New for the 2022-23 season, there is a change in how the Minnesota Hockey Officials Association (MHOA) collects registration fees. Rather than submitting the fee in conjunction with your USA Hockey registration, your fee will be submitted directly to MHOA using this registration.
MHOA was established in 1984 to provide a forum to foster better communication and understanding between officials, players, coaches, hockey associations, and communities within the state of Minnesota. MHOA also plays a key role in developing officials, promoting rule uniformity, and cultivating a high standard of officiating. All officials that officiate Minnesota Hockey games are required by Minnesota Hockey bylaws to be registered members of MHOA.
MHOA uses membership fees to fund development camps, subsidize Minnesota Hockey State Tournament officials’ expenses, create scholarships, and evaluate/mentor officials. These opportunities are available to every MHOA official and can be viewed through our website.
For the 2022-23 season, all officials age 17 or older will have a fee of $12. Officials age 16 and under will be able to register at no cost. In addition, all officials will have the ability to submit a donation to provide additional funding to the programs noted above.
