MHOA was established in 1984 to provide a forum to foster better communication and understanding between officials, players, coaches, hockey associations, and communities within the state of Minnesota. MHOA also plays a key role in developing officials, promoting rule uniformity, and cultivating a high standard of officiating.
MHOA uses membership fees to fund development camps, subsidize Minnesota Hockey State Tournament officials’ expenses, create scholarships, and evaluate/mentor officials. These opportunities are available to every MHOA official and can be viewed through our website.
For the 2023-24 season, all officials age 17 or older will have a fee of $12. Officials age 16 and under will be able to register at no cost. In addition, all officials will have the ability to submit a donation to provide additional funding to the programs noted above.
